Vortex Golden Eagle for $980!

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought my second one. I just wish it was available in the ECR-1 reticle. I guess you can't be picky with a price like that!

scr-1 looks like super fine cross hairs. am i correct? im wondering if they are too fine to see targets at 1000 yards in the bright sun light. what is the usual price?
steve.

Such highly discounted items makes one wonder either about their authenticity or if they have been refurbished. No issue with the latter if so advertised...

I can't imagine a business as large as Optics Planet is selling knock offs; nor would I expect they are anything but new without being advertised as such.
Doing either would be a catastrophically expensive mistake, once detected.

i seriously doubt that they are "knock offs", but rather, they have a "MAP" agreement with Vortex.. they are selling off over stock on the DVOR site.. they can't "outwardly" display a lower price than the MAP price, so hence you have to "join" to see the price. It appears that the ECR-1 reticle is way more popular over the SCR-1. Personally, i wouldn't order from a site that doesn't have a phone number to call. But if you are poised to really want to buy one from this site, i would only use a prepaid card.. just in case they really do hold your info "hostage"!

Having spent many years working in the power transmission industry, I can say that many would be shocked how extensively the roller bearing segment has been penetrated by “knockoffs.” Everything looks right, including the packaging, but when the materials of construction are closely examined the differences become obvious. I certainly hope that is not the case here and that it is simply an overstock situation...

Buying from a national distributor who buys factory direct?

It's another thing, buying off a table at a gun show, or from a guy in a white van at a job site.

Have purchased many items from them over the past year. Even a return with zero issues. They even covered the return shipping. This isn’t a hoax.
