gentlemen,

i got a call from savage today. rifle is "ok"...excuse me ?
savage sells used demo rifles to cdnn and they think they have no responsibility
to insist that cdnn sell them as USED rifles.
they have never been owned by a customer but are in fact used demo rifles, and cdnn sells them as new, and savage honors the rebates!
so my new rifle was in fact not new, cdnn never advertised it as used.
waiting to here from cdnn...so they can buy back the pos rifle.
next step will be to contact texas att gen with a consumer complaint,
not sure if batf cares.
i have been a customer of cdnn for over 20 years,
this is a first....

this rifle was listed under "savage", not under "used guns"
savage honored a factory rebate
mil surplus guns and parts, new parts, mags.
tons of stuff over 20 years.
show me on their site were it says all used guns,
the listings never say used in this line.

monday am update
cdnn check the serial number and said the rifle was sold to them as NEW.
they will check with their savage sales rep and call me back.

they are suppose to call with in a day

without admitting anything, savage has agreed to ship me a NEW rifle.
suppose to take 1-3 weeks.

Retired, a customer of mine ordered a "new" Ruger from CDNN because we couldn't come close to matching the price. It came in with a tag that said "used rifle". There was nothing on the flyer to indicate that (that I saw)

Sounds like Savage should have just given you a coupon to go into any store and pick up the exact same rifle. No need for a 1-3 week wait.

Ive never seen anything but blem/trade in type stuff from them. Like when they had an ad for new police trade in glocks with the kentucky state police logo on them. They have ads all the time like saying we have this “overrun” of 419 ruger americans for 50% off only in one caliber not in original box. Some ads have more hints than others

That's just sh&tty. I have warned a lot of my customers. Shouldn't be a hint, should be a complete honest disclaimer.

i do not know about ALL cases, BUT IN THIS CASE, it was sold as new, not listed as used, and savage is replacing the rifle.

i really got on SAVAGE's case when they said CDNN sold used rifles. i said you are the maker, and you sell to them, and you do NOT REQUIRE them to list guns as used ?
after a week they quit tap dancing and said they would replace the rifle.
