SEB NEO FRONT STOP

Looking to find a replacement front stop that is HIGHER than the derlin one on my neo. My ST-1000 just barely makes contact with the top of the current stop. Any custom jobs out there?

Thanks....Paul

If your anywhere around Pgh. Pa. we could spin one up for you i'm sure. Just have to make it go on the existing post i assume & aluminum cuts like warm butter. Shoot me a PM. I will be going over to the shop later today.

Hello sir, I had the very same problem your having. My solution was parting off a piece of old barrel drop, clean and polished real nice to just raise the one supplied by SEB. I’ll try to get you a picture.

Paul. Buy a delrin thread protector for a barrel. Sinclair sells them. If you have the Ernie Bishop model with the O Rings just take them off, wrap some electrical tape where the O-rings were just to take up the slack because the opening is too small on the thread protector to slip over the 3 O-Rings, but too big when the O-Rings are removed. Now if you find that the thread protector is too tall, you can cut it with a dremel tool to fit. I usually add a piece of fuzzy Velcro to it so the forend of the stock hits the Velcro like Tony Boyer suggests that you do. I've done that to every Neo that I have ever owned.

Does Tony mention if the stock (orig.) rest stop causes fliers as well ?

In the book Tony writes about modifications he does to his Farley rest, but doesn't go in to great detail why he adds velcro to the post.

From the book in his words:

"I feel this is a dead material that takes out the sharp hit from the hard post and also avoids the bounce rubber would give."

WillyTP,
Obviously, you're very handy with do-it-yourself projects.....I have 10 thumbs! Great idea and nice job.
JimPag,
I have the black derlin stop...no O rings. (maybe the Ratigan stop).

I decided to go with the Align Rite replacemet stop made by 20 Practical (Russ Adamski in MN). Just unscrew my current stop and put his on using the supplied threaded bolt that comes with the stop and fits right into the NEO bracket.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Paul

Paul,
Do you have contact info for Russ Adamski? I would like to pick up a couple of his stops. I searched the site here, but had no luck.

Bob...if you are going to be at the match at PA this weekend you can look at the Align-rite front stop I have on my Neo. It works as advertised.
Thanks, Robin.
I will be there. I already ordered mine, but I'll look at yours if they aren't here by then.

Good deal. There is a little learning curve on use if you wear cheaters but no big deal. If you have shot with aperture sights then using it will be a snap.

I solved the too short front stop problem by picking up 3 each 10mm flat washers from my local hardware store. May need to change the bolt (10mm x1.75) size I think, to one a little longer.
