What cheap LIGHT WEIGHT material to fill rear shooting bench bag with ? Thought about these plastic airsoft BB’s but they are kind of expensive. Lead and sand getting to hard to

Air soft BBs seem to big to form well around my rifle.

The smaller the media you can get the better.

Stay Puffed marshmallows,(just kidding) Corn for popping,but you'll have a heck of a time getting them in there, and once they are you won't get them out. You may not like the outcome..IMHO Zircon is the way to go for the best performance,but it is heavy

A guy at work told me he uses pinto beans. Leaves them in the package and then gives one wrap of tape only and put them in his bag. Might try that too. Marty

I would think that would work as well it just not might be as “flexible” or forming as beads or rice etc..

I think depending on what your preference is for a rear bad the material of the bad might dictate what the best option is for fill.

I would stay a way from the food products. One damp match and you may get a garden growing. I second, perhaps even third the small beads from a craft store. I have had mine with this for years without issue.

I bought some Caldwell bags about 10 years ago. It was a set just to shoot hunting rifles from. They came prefilled with corn cob media.

Thanks for the good info. Looks like some good options. I am going to try pinto beans idea first. 79 cents a bag. If I don’t like them I will eat them. Ha ha ha. Marty

If you decide to try kitty litter I would go with new instead of used. Just my opinion.

Anything that won't react negatively to water. Rules out a few of the above but some good ideas remain. Aquarium gravel works well also. It's lightweight and compresses without flexing as the gun is in the bag.

20/40 sieve size corn cob. I can ship you some if you like. Very light and would mold nicely.
