Torquing a mauser barrel, Inner C ring or face?

Here you go gat I hope the picture is good enough for you to see the shank OD is 1.040 a regular 98 large ring thread won't even start in this action.

Stan, gat may have chambered a 100 or so of them, but he hasn't seen the Winslow FN. gat, Stan probably chambers more barrels in a year than most volume gunsmiths do in a lifetime.

Butch I am not arguing at all just intrigued! I myself have been barreling 25+ years and guess I have never seen a Winslow FN! I thought I had barreled every iteration of large and small rings out there! Guess that goes to show ya that when you think you have seen it all..... I wish I had only barreled a 100 or so that would make me a lot younger...... Tomorrow is my birthday and it seems like birthdays come around weekly now!!Stan Thanks for the pics even though I took you at your word.

Not downplaying your longevity or experience, just saying that Stan has vast experience doing this and has seen things that most of us will never see.
Happy Birthday and I hope you have many more healthy ones.

1-1/16 - 20? Maybe a late Winchester/FN controlled round push feed in WSSM flavor? I'm just guessing now. Thought I had it nailed with the BAT and already won the Buick!
You are getting closer it's going to blow you away.Well I am not going to tease you any longer when I have a order going threw I write it up like this barrel in question is going on a new/old model 70 Winchester control round feed like pre-64 m70 with get this (1.062x28 threads per inch the new Browning A bolt is 32 threads per inch.

Fun stuff. Keep them coming. On another forum we had a "name this wrench" thread going for a while. Stumped em with the Quad Lock RPA wrench.

I was thinking that looks finer then a 20 but not quit a 32.
Here is one to guess on.

Would you please share why?
I have heard some stories but interested.
This one I got a deal on because someone had seized a boss on it and it was a mess:confused: I saved the barrel for some future use it was a 270 wsm
Well I barreled one in a 300 win mag an test fired it an went to screw it off to caliber stamp it it turn about a .250 of an inch an locked up had to pay for an action an made decision it is not worth the liabilities.

Well gentleman I thought someone said they would like to see a picture of the threads an what I arrived at on that winslow FN action it was 1.040 ten on with 10 tpi.
