Tried it out on a nice piece of English Walnut end grain just to see how it would work out.. Seems like I didn't loose the touch..

Thats about a 3x5 piece and it took about 2 hours...Lordy, that is nice. About how much time is represented in that little piece? jd
No idea how hard that stuff is, the softer woods do not take to it very well...That's nice
Can you do that on African Obeche?
Could do that also, or call and ask if he has a clue about rather it would take to checkering or not ....Check with Bill Shehane ( SP ) and see if he has any leftovers.....
