Anyone use shooting gloves?

taracer,

Golf gloves works good. They did make a padded glove for heavy recoiling pistol, maybe someone can let you know.

For rifle - if you are talking position shooting Creedmore has an excelent selection.

I like the open finger shooting glove, protects you from the sling and does a good job of gripping the rifle.

The "industry standard" pretty much has been the Army aviation gloves that come in green, black, and grey. I ahve a pair and they have been the best I have used. These are the ones you will see if you watch a military sniper (not a wanna-be, a real military sniper)show in the History Channel

BUT I really would rather shoot with no gloves unless I need one for the left hand when using a sling and then it is a padded open finger mitt.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Bob Allen shotgunner gloves. If its real cold (which happens every now and again here in Minnesota), I'll throw rag wool fingerless gloves over the top of the shotgunner gloves.

Been shooting with wool gloves for years. Just slit the tip of trigger finger glove about 1” and fold it back when shooting. They are cheap at Walmart.

I'm right handed but I use one on my "left" hand only (palms sweat in the hot summer heat) manufactured by a company called Gun Glove while shooting skeet or sporting clays, right hand (trigger) goes without. They make two weights, I prefer the standard weight glove.

Shooting gloves or gloves for shooting in the cold?

No and under armour fleece - let me feel trigger and single load 22lr and get by down to about 0F

I do but the intended reason for a glove determines what is best. The need for a sling shooter is different from a hunter trying to be warm verses trying not to be seen.

Any glove that allows a better grip as in almost sticky are better in my opinion with except the glove for sling shooting.

If you are a right handed shotgun shooter.. I consider My old Bob Allen calf skin leather the best..In warmer weather, that left glove takes a real beating from brush & thorns While Partridge Hunting...Even in cold weather wearing both gloves, I like them for rifle hunting..Mike in Ct

I use shooting gloves under three conditions: 1. In cold weather practice. 2. In the summer sitting in the sun while ghog hunting to avoid sunburn and bug bites on my hands; 3. Deer hunting

For conditions 1 & 2 above the best I've tried is the Armor All gloves. I buy one size smaller for a snug fit and they work perfectly both for rifle shooting and pistol shooting. Almost like shooting with bare hands.

For condition 3, Deer hunting, in cold weather I use Cabela's cold weather gloves that have liners so I can remove the exterior and shoot with the liners.
