I hate to ask a dumb question, but I could not find my answer online anywhere. What is a CFS action?

Is this actually a Remington 700, or is it someone else's action patterned after a Remington 700 ?

Its a normal rem 700 from what Ive been told. Why the Cabin Fever Sports moniker I can not say.

Thanks, I went back and reread the description and it does say the following:

These are New Remington actions, Blueprinted with PTG Fitted bolt.

I must've missed that initially.

Well the Remington 700 is not a "CRF" bolt. Never heard of the CFS term.
CRF is a Controlled round feed.

Its still a push round. Normal 700 action and bolt style.

Hey sheepdog, If you look at the attachment above, what does it say? CFS is Cabin Fever Sports.

Yep, I saw that but was considering other things.
Sometimes the old brain doesn't make connections as fast as it used to. I sit here and laugh at myself.

I am happy with my two. I paid for the fluting and would like to get a few more. One is now a 6x47 lapua improved. The other is 22-250 for now it has a few more rounds left on it maybe a last dog trip before I chamber a second rifle to 22br.

The same as a Rem 700. That's what they are, after all . . .

Eric may be asking what is the diameter of the new bolt body and diameter of the bolt raceway. He also may want to know what the tenon size will be after the threads have been straightened and recut.

It says in the description they run a tap in them to "try" to clean them up so I imagine they are std Remington size. I ordered one of these a month ago-supposedly stock on hand -haven't seen it yet

Ok thanks i didnt see that. Seems like a awful waste to run a tap. When they ream the raceway. I wonder if its all handtools they use for the process. then it makes sense
