Lapua brass, is it worth it

I have been loading for some years and want to get serious about producing some better reloads...Is the Lapua brass worth the money ??

Lapua has (had?) a reputation for being consistent brass & has lead the way with innovation recently. Then again, there's some brass that they don't make that means shooters buy, sort, prep & use other brands successfully.

I guess that means that technique can make up for quality, maybe.

There are only two brass manufacturers that I would consider buying: 1.) Lapua and 2.) Norma. Both are at the top of the heap. I have heard that RWS is excellent>>>>but they don't make many of the cartridges I use and I don't even know where you would get them... Oh and BOTH are worth every penny!

Thanks for the responses....I will be buying some Lapua brass in my quest for better reloads...I have gotten some good results from the sorting/prep way of it, but still have some problems with some of my calibers...Has anybody just switch to Lapua brass with same components and rifle and seen a big improvement ??

Had never tried any until a mate left some in the brass bin at my range, naturally I scooped them up. Lapua 308 once fired. :)
Prep'ed them the same as some once fired Federals I was using.....yep, they fit my chamber, neck size only.
Same load as the Federals cloverleaf groups @ 100yds. Federals wouldn't.

Absolutely! I use it in .260 and .308 and wish they made it in 25.06 because I would use it in that too. It does cost more but I really do think it's worth it, it's very consistent and last a long time.

+1 on this post^^^.

Buy some of each and let your rifle tell you what it likes. JME. WD

yes-yes-yes. I got some used when brass was hard to get for my 6.5x47. it is now on the 35th reload and going strong! I have yet to lose one and all I do to it is annealing.

I have 308 Lapua brass that was used in a 308,then 260 now 260AI on it's 25th firing that is some crazy extremes on that brass, still wrks great
