I'd pick a good old country farmer. He has a love for his country because his hands are in the dirt everyday. He knows what it's like to work hard and long hours. He spends his money wisely, hates waste, saves 10% for his church that he attends every time the doors are open, loves and respects his wife as she has been his life long mate working daily by his side, wants the most for his children but demands they earn it along with a good education and last but not least, he is honest in his dealings. That is the kind of man I could support. But I'll settle for Trump.

His "official" political affiliation is likely so he can win elections in heavily Democratic Milwaukee. No one that has heard him speak would ever make the mistake of thinking him a liberal.
The POTUS does not "ASSUME" the CIC slot. It takes an act of congress and obama was never granted the distinction, yet he bragged about being it for eight years. Should Trump or Clinton win, one is certain, they will not "assume" the CIC until the house and senate authorizes it.
It's done that way so some maniac cannot assume sole control of our government and our military. When a CIC is authorized by The War Powers Act, it is also taken away when the people see fit to do so. That's what took so long for the US to engage in WWII, the Congress and Senate had to approve it, and it was not until the attack on Pearl did the congress have the votes to do so.
If the CIC was totally up to the potus, we would be in war with most countries on earth.
The best example of Obama not having CIC authority, was when he pulled all the troops out of Iraq. His get out of jail, and our soldiers get out of jail pass was expiring and he had no choice but get out, fast.
The Military must be under the command of itself and the president, during acts of war...... but then reverts back to civilian control.....as is the People.
During the Civil War Lincoln cancelled all elections and rescinded most all civil rights.
We have to be very careful who we grant these powers to.

Be both fair and hard, with reasonable expectations.
Understand that to have a goal and reach it, a viable plan must be in place.
Provide praise in public, and correction in private.
Must be willing to reform entitlements and taxes to both save money and promote growth.
You know, someone with balls, brains, and backbone.

My US Representative, Dr. Ralph Abraham is in the Congress for the right reasons. Dr. Abraham was elected two years ago and he told us that he would term limit himself (6 years) and he would accept no salary....if he were required to do so, he would donate it to charity. I'd vote for myself; the only way I know that all of my core beliefs and political standards would be fought for on a daily basis. Plus the salary and benefits of the job aren't that bad.
