Missouri shooters win Indiana state

Ok, can't find a thread for this match but Atterbury just held the long range state match this weekend. Joe Meyer took Open and Ryan Cokerham took FTR high scores home with them. Good job guys!

(Average Joe and rayjay11) forum members. Both are match directors in Missouri and this proves beyond doubt that running matches does not end your shooting. You just have to dig deeper and they did!

CONGRATULATIONS JOE AND RYAN! Great Job!

Congrats to Joe and Ryan, well done! Ryan, we would all really like to see you out from behind the laptop, and in behind an F-TR rifle at next year's MO State MR F-Class Championship. Might this [hopefully] be a step in that direction?

Yes nice very shooting. We had a monsoon Saturday and then sub-tropical weather today. Thank the lord we didn't have to pull targets and had pop-up tents.

Way to go, Joe and Ryan!
Well deserved and not surprising at all - two outstanding shooters and great guys.

Apparently, the Bermuda Triangle extends into Indiana. They tried to drown me Saturday, and sweat me out on Sunday. Thanks to Shawn for allowing pop-ups, when some places won't. They were a life-saver. And also thanks for flagging the whole range, it really helped.
Everyone call Shawn to find out where he got his flags,,,,, his flags were truthful!

Congrats to all the winners of the Indiana and Ky LR match .. Myself and Ryan were only 4 points apart going into the second day... With Ryan in the lead... By the end of the day Ryan kept the lead by a point to win the overall match... Well done Ryan!

But I still won in a sense.. In trying to catch Ryan it forced me to shoot my personal best at 1000 with 199-8

The Missouri boys (and girl) are welcome anytime!

Congrats Ryan and Joe on your wins.

You should invite the Kentucky and Indiana boys over to a Bucksnort match where the weather is always good and the food even better.

Joe, we haven't shot a Long Range match this year where we didn't have pop-ups. It's either been raining or just to darn hot. My theory is a shooting match is a shooting contest not a heat tolerance contest and with older shooters on the line I don't want to have to worry about heat issues.

The flags were compliments of Dwayne Draggoo and Wayne McLeod, we had holes marked on Ranges 3,5, and 6 for permanent locations but we couldn't get out on the range to put the holes in. So we just have mobile flags. This fall to next spring we're going to get out on the ranges to put permanent sockets in the ground. These flags replaced the ones that Mike gave us last year which were a huge upgrade from what we had before those, nothing......

Yes I'm hoping to get to that tomorrow (tuesday) evening. Getting married in 19 days so loaded down with appointments Monday and Tuesday taking care of all that stuff.
Shawn, you're getting married huh. I hope you found one who likes to shoot. Better yet, one that likes to load ammo! Congratulations!

Thanks for the kind words gents. Mike nailed it in the original post. I have spent more time trying to grow the sport in this state than I have on my shooting and it has shown for the past couple of years. I'm still having fun and enjoying the folks that I meet as much as the match itself.

This weekend felt like I tapped back into something I hadn't been able to for a while and it all came together. Kybountyhunter gave me a close run right down to the end. He's a gentleman and one heck of a shooter.

There were some fantastic shooters at the match, and I'd love to see them all show up at Bucksnort next year. I'll try to catch a few extra fish to make sure we have enough to eat.

Shawn, Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Even during the monsoon, the targets worked flawlessly. Shooting under the pop-ups allowed that relay to continue. Doubt we could have done so if targets were being pulled.
Those of you going to Lodi that have not shot E-targets should be in for a real treat. Makes me want to go, and I shoot sling.
