And how does it compare to their now discontinued fixed 36X?

I have a 40x IOR for sale here. I have both the 36x and the 40x. The 36 has the, I believe mp-8 reticle and it works better for the competition that I use it for. The 40 has the floating dot which works awesome for the groundhog shoots I use it for. As far as the glass goes I think the 40 is probably a little brighter. I have no problem seeing 6mm holes at 500 yards in the white, on good days I have seen them in the orange that we use on our targets. I'm only selling the 40 because I simply have too many scopes.

I have the Crusader and love it! I can only compare it to the Vortex Viper PST II. These are the only 2 scopes I've owned so far. The glass is far superior in the IOR, but I will still buy Vortex scopes. I'm actually looking for one now for my 22.
At 1000yds I can the target easily with both, but the IOR I can actually see the texture in the target.
