Match grade bull/no taper . Will finish at 18-20 inches after refit to screw in receiver.
Prefer Anschutz , Cooper, or custom.

Why did the person take the barrel off? Must be he didn't like it for some reason, probably accuracy.

I have bit my tounge ever since this was posted but it is still bothering me so here goes -

Did it even occur to you that the seller and buyer may have discussed why the barrel was removed?

What are you basing your speculation that the "seller didn't like it for some reason" on?

And your longest stretch or all - "probably accuracy".

It amazes me how someone who does not know about anything about what may, or may not, have occurred feels that they have the right to post something as speculative as this on a thread that they are not even involved with.

Amen ...I was wondering if anyone caught on to that "negative" speculation...some folks just can't see the bright side of anything.

I have an old barrel I replaced.
Shelin, came off an unlimited match rifle.
10x III action. Possibly make a good pistol barrel or short ir kinda rifle. Screw in with cone breach. Eley chamber.

I would buy a green mountain blank for $100, guaranteed to shoot better than a take off.

Starting to become an everyday occurrence. Someone post a simple question and it usually turns into a 2-3 page pissing match. I believe that is why there isn’t as many posts posted on this forum anymore. Everyone is a keyboard gun genius. If you feel like cockn off go slam your head in the door and keep your pie hole shut! My momma always said “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say nothing at all.”

I read what jps2486 wrote as a caution, albeit an obvious caution.
Sometimes our triggers are set too light.

Likely it is not the barrel assuming it was set up with a RF gunsmith. The hunt in RF is to find a lot of Eley ammo that fits a well tuned barrel.

Rim for barrels are removed for various reasons, including (in no specific order):
    • To change the balance of the rifle
    • Accuracy issues
    • Ammo lot matching
    • Rate of twist change (I.e. 1:16 to 1:17)
    • Interior or exterior damage
    • Personal voodoo
Perfectly fine barrels are removed all of the time. If one chooses to purchase a used barrel, it is always a risk.

    regards
    Ken
