Turn Your FX-120i into a Prometheus

Saw this posted earlier today... really sweet design. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the FX120i. Heck, I may buy an FX-120i just so I can buy one of these.

I think the thing you'd want to do from a workflow standpoint is get yourself two powder pans of identical weight, then use a traditional powder thrower to drop your initial charge about .5g low. Swap a new throw with the finished charge, then fill a case and throw a new charge while the trickler finishes. From the look of the video you could cycle the two pans about as fast as your hands could move.

Amazing, and the price is very reasonable.

Under his youtube video, he posts his email address (". . . please send me an email at adamjmac@gmail.com.) as the way to talk about an order.

Pretty cool, using the "printer" function to feed a comparator controlling a variable speed driver for a trickler.

Below are a few videos of my automated A&D scale -- nothing special just figured I would share.

Using a PIC16F876 to run the "dispenser/trickler" and PERL to interface the scale and the ucontroller...creates logfile for each charge...i'm ok with +/- .02 from target.

Log from last run (target was 30.2)
1) was: 30.22 0
2) was: 30.22 86
3) was: 30.18 231
4) was: 30.24 273
5) was: 30.18 334
6) was: 30.24 378
7) was: 30.22 441
8) was: 30.18 559
9) was: 30.18 622
10) was: 30.22 683

Couple of videos from initial run -- code is a bit more sophisticated now so it is slightly faster than in the videos.

Has anyone been in contact with Adam to see what is included in his kit???

Is it everything except the A&D120i???

Phil.

I have been working on my version also. I have one working with the Arduino and one with a TI C2k controller. The C2k is a much better setup so far, to many irons in the fire at the moment though.

My eye's are glazing over !

Funny thing is I used PICs and my own circuit boards to automate control of an HO railroad maybe 20-30 years ago lol. Now I think I'll wait to buy scale/dispenser control from someone else lol.

Would like to see some more info on this and contact info as well. Thanks for the find.

Waiting for the Prometheus owners, I mean renters comments...
I think it's awesome. Robots to automate all the tedious tasks in life :) it looked real nice in the video.

Now can that setup be mounted over my press to dump straight into cases? Can it dispense a charge and begin weighing the next one with a flick of the finger? Nope

Does it cost $ 3500 and do we have to enter into a ridiculous lease agreement ? Nope Will that $ 3500 Promethius weigh cases, bullets, primers, etc. ? Nope
