Picked up an old J Stevens Model 38A mag fed 410 shotgun for $65.00 that needed some TLC. After a bit of stock sanding and barrel refinishing to get the rust off and a bit of bluing I think it turned out ok, Been a long time since I played with a .410. 410.jpg 4101.jpg

I just bought a MEC .410 reloading setup last week for me and the kids...... I figger it'll pay for itself in 20 boxes of shells.

They are FUN! And liddle kiddies and grandkiddies can join in....f'real.

Nice job! Reminds me of my own first firearm. I bought a 3 shot Westernfield from my Uncle for $35.00 at age 11. No telling how many bunnies and tree rats met their demise with it. It was the only gun I owned for many years. I too, refinished the stock and had it blued. Put it away for my first born grandson and never was blessed with one. Your post has reminded me to search for a young lad to give my 410 to.

410 is way under rated. i love my model 42. awesome dove, grouse and woodcock gun. Pesters flushed pheasants too, besides being bad juju on bunnies

I wouldn't mind finding one of those myself for the grandson.

Looks like it cleaned up nice. 410s are great and considering I think its still illegal to hunt small game with an air gun here it’s got some good utility.

My Contender with the .410 tube on. Nice pattern to point of aim at 25-30 yards...Sure don't miss the big boom and recoil.
