What's the difference between this and SK rifle match.
Pistol match is more accurate so they say. Its what im shooting..
Didn't know if it was designed for short barrel or some thing, slower maybe?
According to the SK site muzzle velocity of each is 1073 fps and 938 fps for Rifle Match and Pistol Match respectively.
Not certain but the 938 Pistol Match is likely out of a short pistol barrel. May be loaded hotter than the 1073 Rifle Match.
SK Pistol Match shoots at 1045fps. It is very accurate ammo in my Kidd barrels love it.
My Douglas barrel shoots it pretty good too. Back to back 5 shot groups.
You are making me want to try this stuff.. i have had good luck with Standard Plus in the past, but i to have read that the Pistol Match out shines it..
I tried SK PM about ten years ago in a silhouette rifle. It didn't perform hardly as well as Standard Plus in that rifle.
Its what I am shooting... as per side conversations with you... holds 3/4 at 100 yards. Havent tried at 50 like most people shoot.
Every gun I have shot that had a precision barrel shot SK Pistol Match well. My Suhl 150 original barrel shot tiny holes with it. So did Benchmark barrel I put on it later. I got a bunch of groups in the .1's with it. I have shot SK Standard Plus. It won't touch SK Pistol Match.
Shot some new Standard Plus yesterday evening.. the gun just didn't like it at all! I would like to try some of the Pistol Match if i can find some local..
It will always be a lot by lot game. I had 3 lots of SK+. My BR rifle shot one very well, with the obligatory SK+ outliers. The other two lots were not even close. I've watched guys qualify multiple lots of Tenex. Some were winners in their particular rifle and some looked like crap. Ditto on Lapua Center-X and Midas. I picked up a couple of boxes of Wolf ME for guests to use and discovered it shot lights out in my BR rifle. Unfortunately it was from a lot that was sold out. Luck and timing factor in as well.
Dug these up. Randy McCarver a WA State Champ shooter shot these at 100yds with his 2 bench guns yrs ago. Randy was the guy that told me about this ammo. It was less than $3 a box then.
Here was some groups I shot over the yrs with this ammo. Now that first group is smaller than a Bic ink pen.
Those are impressive.. i like..
I bought some SK PM on applecreek's suggestion. It shoots very well in my Cz 455.
That box of Standard Plus that i had left over.. well guess what.. the 10/22 loves the stuff!
which SK pistol match are you talking about, pistol match or pistol match special? nilebartram
Well for me i think that in actuality, i am referring to the Black & Green box, to which going back and looking, says: Pistol Match special on the box.. i know that there was on the older gold box it just say Pistol Match.
