This stuff is never good. I'd feel better if the owner did more than push paper and cut what ever they can out of the company.

My company has been owned by no less than three holding companies since 2001. They all had the same goal: How much money can I make TODAY by cutting costs, selling under utilized assets, eliminating anything that doesn't generate something like 12% EBITDA or higher and then when the financial statement looks good, you will probably get sold again. From what I have seen there won't be any loyalty to customers or their employees. I hope I am wrong.

There are plenty of bullets out there, so as a consumer if it goes to crap i will survive. I just hope the employees are treated well in the transition, everyone needs a job ya know (or a good lotto ticket, but those are few and far between)

And here I was just beginning to get my Wilson seater fine tuned for the 107 SMK. Oh well, there is a box or two of Bergers on the bench.

Let's take a deep breath folks.

Sierra has always been a profitable company. From what I read, it's already been said that management and employees will stay and be allowed to make the quality product that customers are expecting.

This is probably a good opportunity for new ownership to expand and add to the company.

I've been on both sides of buyouts. With an investment group involved there is no way that this will end well for the employees or the end users.

Is it just a coincidence that my older Savage rifles have smoother actions than the newer ones made after ATK acquired Savage ?

The sky is falling the sky is falling. What's going to happen to computers once we hit the year 2000? Scary stuff indeed!
