"Standard rail" is subjective to maker, they vari by brand as to the thickness.
On my rifle, .970" worked with a m24 barrel profile and a 56mm scope.

I have a set of like new of both .970" and a set of 1.250" for sale if you are interested. $90 shipped

Yup what rail can matter. Which one you using? I use a 1" height ring with my 56mm Razor II scopes on all my rifles except my Surgeon action which needed a little higher at 1.1".

You should be able to get away with the .97" height.
