Today I started base to ogive measuring some of Roy's bullets that I picked up last week. The results were so amazing, I had to share. I started out doing 50 and was going to stop. Before I knew it I had done 100, and then, all 500. 496 of the bullets were plus or minus .0005". 4 bullets were just outside this at .0005" shorter. .0015" total variation for 500 bullets is nothing short of phenomenal. I don't know how he does it, I'm just glad he does.

I'm betting those 4 will shoot a group.
How did they weigh?

I just weighed 25 and they were 102.58 gr. to 102.66 gr. I also measured 10 out of each of the other three boxes. They were all the same as the first box. That saved me from BTO measuring the other 1,470 which is saying a lot because I tend to measure everything.

Id like to see you load up those outliers and see if they shoot in the same group as the perfect ones

I shot them as sighters last night Dusty, but they were so close to the same length that I doubt they would have shot any differently. I chose an arbitrary load and seating depth and printed a couple 4 inch 5 shot groups at 1K (30.6 gr. H4895 at +.008"). Both groups were all vertical so I'll adjust neck tension, but that wasn't too bad for a first test with a new bullet with no load development. They are going to shoot small.

These look like great bullets!

Have you measured the overall length? That and measuring the diameter of the bullet at the junction of the boattail and shank are the only sorting I currently do.

Dave what speeds were you at with 30.6 ?

Jason, there was .0085" difference in OAL but I have only measured 25 or so at this point.

Nah, this barrel is about wore out. New one going on this week. May not be a good one but I doubt that. Let me know how those 109's do for you. They look interesting. See you at the meeting in a couple weeks.

To answer a couple other questions, I have not trimmed and don't know the BC of these bullets.
