Quickload update

Does anyone have the update that is dated April 2020? If so, is Staball 6.5 powder on it? What else is new on it?

Yes, that bullet is now in the database. I just updated my program. Also, I saw CFE BLK, Hodgdon LVR, all the IMR Enduron, and ALL the Shooter's world powders.

Thanks! I just ordered it myself.

$15.95 is a good price to bring my version up to date, but $12.85 to ship is nuts.

Ryan - FWIW, Berger provides all the information necessary to create your own bullet files in QuickLoad, which is free. The image below is part of the info they provide for the new 208 Hybrid. One missing piece of information is the boattail angle, but QuickLoad will generate that from the length of the boattail and the small diameter of the taper, which you can measure yourself with reasonable accuracy. I have created a number of my own bullet files over the years and they work just fine. You can also modify an existing bullet file if you purchase a new Lot# and the external dimensions differ substantially from a previous Lot# (or the preset dimensional values).

The only issue I encounter (pretty much every time I create a new bullet file) is that I'm running QL via PC emulation software on a Mac. There is a trick to correctly naming the new bullet file on a Mac so that it ends up in the Berger bullet folder. Unfortunately, I don't do it very often and invariably forget the trick, and thus have to re-figure it out every time. That shouldn't be as much of an issue with a PC (I think).

I've actually done this several times and think the update is worth it to get me back up to date. I have a 6.5 PRC that I'm going to load for and that cartridge wasn't in the version I had. I believe mine was from 2013 or 2014.

I use Crossover to run it on my MacBook Pro.

Really, it's ridiculous that the software and the updates aren't just a download.

The update includes the 6.5 PRC.

Elvis,

What about the 30 PRC? I see the 6.5 in my version, but not the 30.

Thanks,
DocBII
DocBll,

I think it's there in the April '20 update. Listed as .300 Precision Rifle Cartridge.
Not sure why they would use the acronym for one and not the other though.

Jackal,

The Precision Rifle Cartridge is the way it shows up in my copy, I don't know what update version is.

Thanks,
DocBII

Did anyone get this update? I'm looking at buying it. I am new to quickload and just got it last month(ordered 9/30) but just before this update. I noticed VV N565 isn't in my version and the image on necronos's website says it added it so might get this. I'm also trying to check a load for a Berger 205 EH and have not created a bullet profile so was hoping it was in this update? Anyone know? If not I'll probably still get it for the N565 and try to figure out how to add a bullet profile.

ps - mine says "300 Precision Rifle Cartridge" and "6.5 PRC"
