    Precision Elevation Adjustment Screw

Field & Cave’s Precision Elevation Adjustment Screw is designed specifically for long range benchrest shooters to give them finer elevation control. Traditional speed screws are great for gross elevation adjustments, but lack the sensitivity and precision that’s required for minute POA adjustments. Born from the request of a world record holding 1,000 yard shooter, our Precision Elevation Adjustment Screw made its debut at the 1,000yd IBS Nationals. They were well received, so we refined them and added them to our lineup. Once you try one, you’ll wonder how you managed with a traditional speed screw.

    Features:

    · Precision CNC machined 1-1/2” diameter 7075 aluminum knob. The knob is compatible with our Sinclair Competition Rest Wrench so it can be used as a cat tail for the ultimate in aiming precision.

    · Each revolution gives .05” of plunger travel. On traditional speed screws, this is approximately .170” per revolution (3.4 times more course). Our precision screw also gives you a greater mechanical advantage to easily move heavy rests. It also resists settling or unwanted movement that sometimes happens with course pitched screws.

    · Thrust ball bearing for smooth operation

    · ¼” diameter hardened steel plunger assembly. 45 degree tapered end to fit bench pads.

    · Plunger is spring loaded to keep the bearing properly seated in the cap during transport & storage.

    · Approximately 11/16” of plunger travel, stop-to-stop. Travel on target is approximately 40 MOA. This will vary depending on the distance between bags and the front rest that you are using.

    · Works great with our Sinclair Competition Rest Aluminum Base Plate and our original steel base plate.

    · Easily disassembled for cleaning & lubrication. No tools required.

    · Lubrication hole in the cap for the bearing. Simply add a drop of oil periodically.

    · Does not include jam nut. The factory nut from your speed screw is compatible.

Speed Screw.jpg Love my Elevation screw, I took some pictures and compared it to my factory Sinclair speed screw, I turned both speed screws 3 complete turns and came back with a little over .505 on the length of the Sinclair and .138 on my new Field and Cave Outfitters speed screw. This is going to help me and anyone needing extreme fine tuning for those 600-1,000 yard matches. You can see my pictures and compare the 2 and get a little clarification on the difference when adjusting your speed screws. In the target picture the Sinclair is on the left. I also ordered the Benchrest alignment block, Ammo Blocks, Competition rest wrench and Aluminum base plate, everything is top notch machine work. So, do I just screw the Field and Cave elevation adjustment screw into their aluminum base plate ? Or is there something else I need to do ?

Nice job Field & Cave, when I added the fclass feet to my Sinclair Competition rest the rear adjust was not enough so i ended up going to a machinist and having him make the travel longer with a longer center pin and making me a adapter for my 1/2 x20 fclass foot. Before this I just used a bolt that was 1/2-20 threads and milled the head and had 3 small Allen screw that attached to the fine adjustment pin in the competition screw. Long story short nice product, just please make a adapter to convert to some of the fclass feet.
    Thanks Jason

Thanks for letting me know. I don't shoot any F-Class, so it's good to get input. It seems I'm always trying to get things low enough to get on target. Needing extra height never crossed my mind. We are going to start another production run soon, as we are sold out. How much longer would the plunger need to be to accommodate the F-Class feet?

We are including a spanner and 16 washers now. You can set it & forget it.
