It is...so it won’t work?
I looked again at the first pic in the thread. The barrel looks bigger than a Rem. Sporter contour. What is the muzzle diameter? It almost looks like it's a Sendero contour.
.700 at muzzle
.910 at middle of barrel
Again gents can’t thank everyone enough.
I think you are correct, a #7 Light Varmint or a Sendero contour. Any more than that and you'll have sharp edges at the barrel channel.
If you are still wondering about this, I have one of those ADL sporter stocks that I opened up the barrel channel for a Remington Varmint contour. I can take a picture of it when I get home.
Yes please, that would be great!
thats a neat service!
The barrel pictured is a Pac-Nor in Remington Varmint Contour. The top edges adjacent to the barrel channel are about .100 wide and it's not hard to look at. I filled in the magazine recess when I bedded a Stiller Predator in single shot.
@Roeder that’s great! Thanks for the picture. I’m doing a light varmint, maybe a sendero, so it should have a little bit more space. Were you able to free float it?
Sure, I had clearance with the Remington Varmint Contour. I'm not sure how a straight taper LV would look. Light or medium Palma would look good too.
If you mean the Remington Light Varmint Taper, then yes it would also give a little more breathing room. That would be more like the Shilen #5 1/2.
