PLEASE SEND EVENT INFO FOR CALENDAR

Please send in your events for the Calendar. Note, we don't have the resources/space to put in all clubs' regular monthly events, but we want to include:

    A. Major National and Regional Championships
    B. Popular Special Competitions, such as Hickory Groundhog Shoot
    C. Interesting Special Events, such as a BR school, or multi-discipline shoot.

Please provide a 100-word summary of event with dates, cost, list of classes, gun types), and a phone # and web link for further information.

We can also publish a photo of your range, or a range map. So, you can attach a photo or map to your email.

    Send event listings to: mailbox@6mmBR.com

Please put "EVENT" in the email subject line.

    -------------------

After much searching we've found a database-driven Event Calendar module. This will display all the year's events at a glance, and events are searchable by date, type of event and keyword.

    Check it out: http://www.6mmBR.com/eventcalendar.html

We have the ability to allow direct site-user input of events, but we'll hold off on that for a while. Go ahead and submit major National and regional events to mailbox@6mmBR.com .

With the new Calendar Module you can view events by the year, by the month, or by a date range. You can search for a term such as "SuperShoot" or "F-Class". Or, with one click you can bring up one or more of five event categories. For example, you can search just for Short-Range BR matches.

This new module adds to our expense, but three recent donations, thanks John D., John P., NorCalMikie) have covered the cost for the next year.

I looked at a ton of software solutions. I honestly feel, once we get all the events loaded in, you'll find this the most versatile Shooting Sports Calendar on the Web. Most of us plan months ahead for major matches. This lets you do that without having to load one month after another, just to see grids with mostly empty boxes. Here is the Detail View--what you see when you click on an Event from the list. We can include photos/maps in that box.

And here is the Month View format, for those who prefer to look at things one month at a time. You can use the left-right arrows to navigate from one month to another. Or select the month you want from the menu box. You can always revert back to Advanced Mode to search the whole year by Event Date, Category, or Keyword. Click "Printer Friendly" to display a layout that will print out your selected events in a simple format.

Yes, it was too time-consuming to keep it updated given the few visits to that page.

This is one of those threads that should post backwards with the latest posting first so people wouldn't have to scroll through 2006 through 2015 events to see what is coming up next month. I like the idea of having an event calendar to advertise events to those of us who don't regularly have time to compete but do have a free weekend every so often.
