a joint venture / discussion between Jim and our very own @Alex Wheeler has led to a new shroud design

    Video here

This new shroud has significantly lessened bolt jump and bolt lift.

New actions will have this shroud standard and the older actions can be retrofitted for nominal cost ($50) ($25)

NOTICE: AFTER A LITTLE CONFUSION ON MY PART THE $25 FEE IS FOR JIM TO RETROFIT YOUR CURRENT SHROUD. IF YOU WANT A NEW ONE, IN ADDITION TO YOUR OLD ONE, THEY ARE $90.00

Great work Jim and @Alex Wheeler

Does mine have it (BRMXD)? If not, I'll simply have to have one once I send all the components back to Alex ;).

Good news for my up and coming action. Do you or when will you have a replacement for my existing action? My current bolt tool will still work correct?.........Thanks

So many are hesitant to change. Borden is certainly interested in the accuracy sports and wants to stay at the top. I recommend Borden actions as a first choice for a reason. I honestly believe they are the best out of the box action you can buy.

Talked with Jim this morning and Shroud replacements for older actions has had it's price reduced from $50 to $25

Greg, I presume this would just require a direct swap and no modifications to fit to an existing bolt.

It will. All new actions that have not been delivered will have it.

Also, any actions I have available on the shelf have been swapped and are ready to go

Is it safe to presume that the $90 figure also includes a new cocking-piece?o_O I'm having difficulty visualizing how changing the shroud could reduce cocking effort!??! RG

P.S. I am neither unfamiliar with Borden actions, nor, trying to be a smart ass here - I recently won a NBRSA National VfS Championship using one of my RimRock actioned rigs - just extremely curious.;)

I emailed Jim and asked "what do I need to do?". He replied in 2 minutes and told me to ship him my bolts and $50. 1-2 days turn around unless it's the end of Sept.

They are undoubtedly great actions, but that kind of customer service is why I do business with Jim.
