The Jim Beam Distillery caught fire and burned 40-45,000 barrels of whiskey, depending on what media outlet is reporting.

Fortunately, it wasn't Barts Bullets. There is a lot of whiskey on the shelves by many makers, but not so many premium bullets.

We have had a few Rick Houses collapse in recent history.
At least most of the barrels were relatively unscathed.

250 bottles per barrel, 40k barrels gone.. I don't know their average profit per barrel but that is a big lose..

All those barrels gone that would made some good rum in their next life.

Irish whiskey is good but some Bourbon like Eagle Rare from Buffalo Trace is good.. Jim Beam is usually flat/thin.

Love a good Scotch such as Macallan 12 to 18, Laphroaig, or Aberluer a’bunadh but we have lots of great Bourbons that are equally tasty.
I live near most of the major Distilleries, with 3 in my home Shelby Co.

No big lose here. Every time I took a sip of the hard stuff I woke up in jail or the hospital or both. Mike

Shooter13, I belong to Fern Creek Sportsman’s Club in Jefferson Co., and Anderson Co. Sportsman’s Club.
    Both private ranges.
I do get down to Delta, KY, between Somerset and Monticello when I can; have Family there.
I am about 15 min from Buffalo Trace.

Multiply that by a safe number of $25 per bottle, retail.
First thing you know, you are talking about real money.

Some of us can actually handle our liquor...lol. I once spent a week in Kentucky touring the distilleries. To say that I enjoy my bourbon would be a huge understatement!!!

Texas seems to think they got something going on in the bourbon world and I think they do. A lot of new Texas Distilled Bourbons on the shelf and I'm making it my goal to try 'em all.
