Kathy just called me and said my barrel survived!!!!
It's going to be sent this week!!!
Quick, go buy a lottery ticket!!!
Congrats, good to see at least one ray of sunshine emerge from that tragedy.
Special proprietary heat treatment. That barrel should never wear out.
I had two cases of reserve wine at a winery that burned down in 2000. 2 weeks later they called and said that my wine was in the "library room" and was fine. I drove to Napa and picked it up the next week. Unfortunately, it was spoiled, all $1900 worth of it. Nothing I could really do. --jerry
I suck at pool but somehow I won five games in a row so I bought Mega Millions tickets in an attempt to cash in before my luck turns on me. Then when I got home, a package that had been stuck in USPS limbo arrived along with a "final notice", you have won a Tesla model 3, a Princess cruise, a 65" LCD TV or an iPad.
My luck has turned because I missed the lottery numbers and that "final notice" was a scam travel agency selling weird $9,000 travel club memberships like a time-share without any ownership. My prize was pretty much guaranteed to be the Princess cruise which they charge a $500 fee to collect and they have bizarre booking policies to ensure that they can buy the tickets for probably less than that $500 fee. I don't enjoy cruising much so my "final notice" went in the trash.
On the positive side, the replacement bolt sleeve in the lost package I wasn't expecting actually fixed a problem my project action was having and I figured out the travel agency scam before calling them or otherwise giving them any indication that I'm a possible sales lead.
Be happy with your luck but it's pretty much guaranteed not to last.
With the way shipping seems to go now-a-days, No celebrating until it’s in your hands in good shape. LOL
Did Kathy give any indication if they were going to rebuild?
Yes, they're rebuilding.
Yes she told me they were going to rebuild
Just to be clear, my barrel was out of the shop during the fire. It was out getting fluted at a different location.
I never even ask them about my barrel, just didn't want to bother them after a tragedy. In my mind I just knew my order would be an insurance claim. So I ordered one just like it from a different manufacturer. No one makes brass for 27 Nosler (not even Nosler), I have to actually make the brass from 26 N brass, might as well be a wildcat even though it is SAAMI.
So that barrel will be for fire forming, lol.
I talked to Kathy today and she asked me what I lost in the fire and said she was sending me my refund on my barrel and a check for the other parts I lost in the fire. I'm looking forward to sending them another deposit for a new barrel when they get back up and running. I'm glad they have the courage to rebuild and keep their business going. Nothing like a lapped 3 groove barrel IMO
You could have the last Pac-Nor barrel in captivity.
I have another Pacnor, still in the wrapper from last year. I thought that would be my last one. Now I'll have two.
Kind of hard to shoot something that is endangered.
Not so fast! I think they will be back better than ever and hope to get a new barrel when mine is shot out. So far it is wearing very well.
I wonder if everything in the cleaning closet ended up nitrided.
