Model 7 and 700 triggers compatability?

I am using a model 7 action for a build and was wondering if i could use a Jewell i have here at home for a 700?

Thanks,
Dan

Jewel lists a separate trigger for model 7's so maybe they don't interchange. Look at greatscottshootersupply and see if I am correct.

I called jewel Tuesday with the same question. Yes, they are the same trigger, but have a different bolt release. If you are like me and both have no bolt release or safety they will interchange.

I have the HVR with only the right safety and no bolt release. I will be having a bolt release installed on the side of the action like the customs if i can and if the action will allow it. Would i still be able to use the safety on it for the action? If the trigger is a hassle to use i may have to go with a Timney and skip the side bolt release:'( >:(

You are right,as mine doesn't have a trigger bolt release, mine too. I have an xp sleeve gun.

Will a side bolt release installed like on the customs work on a model 7 or can it only be installed on a 700 action?

I cannot remember which forum I saw them on, but google custom model 7's and it should pop up. Point I'm making is the side bolt release was done on quite a few of them. Was it Rusty Stud that did them? Whoever it was put them in some wild colored McMillan stocks. They looked extremely well made.

Anyway, I wanted to try the new Timney Calvin Elite on my daughter's 6.5×47 and went that route as the Jewell model 7 trigger was not available earlier this year. I have to say it is not bad at all. I am more used to the Jewell, but being honest, I have not tried to adjust the Calvin at all. I just installed it, weighed it (11 ozs), and went to work finding a load. They feel different is about the only way I can describe it, but when the Jewell's become available again, I will not replace this trigger. I need to get off my butt and adjust it for take up and over travel as there is the slightest bit of each in it. I always adjusted a Jewell by the directions before I shot them so it is not really a fair comparison.

Mine doesn't have a bolt release anymore. I just slide my pocket knife in along side the bolt on the left side and depress the bolt stop. It's so easy I have never bothered to consider having a bolt release installed.

I wouldn't spend the time or the money to install one on anything of mine either, easy enough to use a stick to do it, when it needs done...

The HVR trigger for a 700 and the model 7 have an identical
trigger body. The safety is the same, only the bolt release
is different, You can see a picture on my web site of each.

The bolt release is visible on the JT02 & the JT03

Thanks so much for the info. I have a Jewell for a build that does not have the bolt release. I always order them that way as 99 percent of the time my builds are on a custom action. Looks like it will work on my model 7 build and i will have the bolt release done to the side of the action. Thanks so much for all the info fellas.
