Looking for a cheap Remington 700 S/A bolt with .308 bolt face. I figure if PTG is making after market bolts there have to be some Remington bolts out there without a home.

when you add up firing pins and extractors which don't come with PTG unless you pay extra. 140.00 to 150.00 is a buy .

Well, if I have to pay anywhere near PTG’s price then I might as well just get a PTG. If you take the time to wait for a good buy and sell off the extras you can get into a whole donor action for $250-$300, so again. I’m not looking to pay too much for a bolt or I’ll go a different direction with the build.

I may. Or I may buy a gun, part it out and be in the whole action for $250-$300. If I can get a bolt with a .308 bolt face that someone has lying in a corner for a fairly low price then I will. If not, then I can go other routes.

$50-$100 depending on the setup. Old, used a fair bit with visible wear and completely stock would be on the cheaper end. Newer and unused would be on the higher end. The last action I bought new had a fluted firing pin, so instead of upgrading the whole thing I just put a Wolf extra power spring on it. I’d actually prefer one that’s older and fairly used on the cheaper end of the spectrum. If I have to spend much more than that I’d rather buy a PTG, trade it out with one my own bolts and use the old bolt on this build. That or just build it on a Mauser that I’ve been wanting to fool with for a few years.

You may be right, but I’d rather have a PTG for that money.

I understand. I've got a brand new stainless single shot bolt with knob I'm about to list so I can get a ptg with bigger OD. I just hope they get it right the first time .
