Most guys I know make their own out of round stock so I can't help you much.

Question though, what material are you putting pictures up from? Looks like a book I need to read is why I ask.

Last time I checked, Richard Franklin wasn't selling escutcheons "by themselves" so I had my own "Custom Made". His sold only as part of a rifle build. Might be a different story now?
Is Richard Franklin still building rifles??? I thought he moved and gave it up.

Franklin's enjoying retirement in Montana still I think. Last time talked with him about some stuff. Still selling videos.

Made mine from the cut-off end of a barrel.

Mine are just at barrel stub OD. 1". Some Stainless steel, some Aluminum.
Sent a picture/drawing of what I wanted with the specs and BAM, got counter sunk escutcheons made to order for my stainless steel allen head action screws. Sure makes a difference if the "finished" look of a rifle stock.
Don't remember how much$$ but it was well worth it. :D

Set/glue your action in the stock with the pillars below the surface. You set that depth. Trim the base of the escutcheon to allow it to rest on the stock surface AND touch the top of the set pillar at the same time. You can even glue it into the stock if you want. it's YOURS, do it the way YOU want it. Some of mine are removable, just because. Being countersunk for the action screw heads keeps them centered.

You will need to do the two piece pillar on the front if your stock lines are not parallel at that point (bottom of stock and bbl’d action) otherwise one side will be proud while the other side makes contact. With the two piece, the escutcheon will lay flat on the stock and the bedding takes up the gap between the two parts.
