Looking for a smith near me that can turn/thread a rifle barrel

In Ohio near Dayton or ???. Needing a Savage stainless "large shank" barrel turned down and rethreaded to "small shank" for a project gun that I leaped before I looked on the barrel purchase. The price made me do it! I seen the deal and did not see the threads. I can ship it if needed but was wanting to avoid that if possible, would like to drop off and pick up when done.

4.5 hours, I'm right near the Ohio/Indiana line. I found one over in Indiana called Matt's custom guns but he has bankers hours and I'll have to take a day off work to go there, M-F 9-5 only

I've not done this one...but 1.120- 1.055= .065
Double-depth of 20 tpi thread is .0758; threads will not clean up.

Or did I eff up this simple math?

I spoke with Stan today and the barrel is going to him tomorrow. Said he can "fix me up"...

Well if there's any existing threads left when I turn to the major OD I will just pick up the existing threads no brainer.

That went way over most “gunsmiths” heads. They thought the barrels came threaded

Well as said earlier I would pickup the existing threads if any were there not enough to worry about but I did anyway beginning and the end product.
