"I ain't rich, but good Lord - I'm free."
I am not a music major, neither am I involved in music, except as a listener. However, thinking about "Amarillo by Mornin'" made me think that there are more songs about Texas and cities in Texas than any other state.. It's true, Texas is the GREATEST State in the nation!
Only problem is I'm not aware of any 600 or 1000yd benchrest matches in Texas. Why is that? Or where if there are? Barry.
Jessi Colter sure is smokin' hot too...but back to Amarillo by Morning....on the top of my play list
That is a good question Barry>>> I have asked myself that same question.
Now this is Country Music! I don't even turn the radio on to the crap that's on there today. It's like listening to Libtards, can't stand them either!
I don't listen to country but I could hear that all day.
I find the more time I spend in my truck the more appealing country becomes.
Sorry Country music -
Good old 70's Rock
George Strait is on of my favorite artists. Enjoy a lot 80's and 90's country music. Cheyenne By Morning is another of my favorites. Much to Young to Feel this Damn Old (Garth Brooks) gets played quite a bit also. Rock bands like Lynard Skynard, Eagles, Tom Petty, and AC-DC (Shoot to Thrill) occasionally get played. Had to be brain washed into hard rock. Friday nights back in the day at work sounded like a concert. Now I spend plenty of time 2 stepping around my reloading bench.
Amarillo by Mornin is a classic! Once I hear it I can’t get it out of my head! And then, there’s the Allman Brothers.....timeless music from a long gone era! None like it before, none like it evermore.
I quit listening to Country music when it became what I call "bubble gum" Country. A lot of good ones sang country in the past but the old Possum, No show Jones, was my favorite!
The older country, like the older rock, far and away the best! New country is cowboy rap music and most of the new rock is just screeching $hit.
Allman Bros. Whipping Post.
check this out. Prince just kills it. The others - all great musicians. are just blown away. 3':30". It's worth a listen. 71 million views?!
I'm primarily a rocker, but there's a ton of old country that is just too good to not listen to from time to time. Cash, Waylon, and of course Merle, are now part of that band on the other side. Some day I'll have a front row seat for one of their concerts.
I hope Merle sings this one. So purdy it'l slip a tear outa ya. jd
Yes prince definitely one of the best guitar players.
