After 3 years of planning and construction, Deadzero Shooting is nearing completion of a state of the art 1,000yd range in Spencer, TN. We designed the range to face due north and to be one of the best 1,000yd ranges in the country. We are hosting a 2 day Long Range match to be held on July 27-28. Don't fear the summer heat. Our range is located on top of Cagle Mtn just 45 minutes north of Chattanooga, TN. The temps are consistently 6-8 degrees cooler than Chattanooga as well. We rarely see 90° in the summer. Plus, we will have 175 Shot Marker etargets on the range, a covered firing line and covered staging area. There are 25 firing points with each point having Shot Marker etargets at 100, 200, 300, 600, 800, 900, and 1000yds. Prone and F Class View attachment 1113354 will shoot off of Astroturf in front of the concrete bench area. We will run a 4 relay, 3 x 1000 on both days. The match will not be approved or registered. We will have 20 operational targets for the match so we will have 80 slots available. We will be installing the rest of the etargets over the next few weeks. Tablets will be provided for shooters and scorers, but feel free to use your own device. If there is enough interest, we can run a team match on Saturday after the conclusion of the individual matches.

I will post a link to the registration page tomorrow.
Match fees will be $30/day or $50 for both days.

Make sure you squad them on either side of yourself though. It will do wonders for for your trigger control and follow through.

The last pic is from a couple of weeks ago when we had a steel challenge match. There are 3 etargets up at 1,000yds along with steel gongs. Wind flags, number boards and Shot Marker targets at 1k going in over the next 2 weeks.

Very cool. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful range. What type of water runoff retention measure did you go with? What is the normal pH of the soil in the region?

I ask because the range design geek in me is very intrigued.

Also because I am doing a multi year study right now regarding lead migration in Arizona soils. With you having a new range it would be a great opportunity to establish a baseline and research it over time.

    Yes I know I am a geek ;)
