The 85 Sierra is also my go to bullet for most .243s with 10 twists or slower. Kills things very well for its size.

In my 6mm ackleys over the years I used 75 gr Sierra hpbt bullets .Shot great and really exploded the dogs like a varmint bullet should. Decent in the wind also. Maybe 5-6 coyotes and 5 or so badgers.Badgers made a nice POP when hit. I used WW785 powder that metered like water in the powder measure.

What is the general consensus on the amount of jump for the 85hpbt in a 243? I just started working with them in a rem 700bdl stock 24in barrel 1.9 twist. 41.5 grain of h4350 is giving 1 out 2 touching about 7/8 of a Inch group. I am 20th off the lands now. That's where I started

I used them in a .243 AI, 10 twist, with IMR 4350 and they shot best touching. It is a Jarrett barrel.

My COL is 2.660" in 243 Winchester using thhe Sierra 85 gr hpbt #1530, using IMR4350 in Remington brass, CCI Br2.

Testing IMR 4451 powder now. Worked up to 44.0 grs so far.

Anyone else loading this bullet with IMR 4451 powder?

    Just wondering. Thank you.

I predict 5 in and 20 and 30 out shoot the best.

Is there a velocity limit on these? Might try them in 6-284 but sometimes my shots can be kinda close.
