Gun Grabber Alert!

I received a call from the NRA today concerning the D.C. gun ban. Apparently, the Supreme Court voted the ban down as unconstitutional. Not being satisfied with the decision, the gun grabbers have amassed their lawyers and supporters to bring The Second Ammenment's provision for an individual's right to bear arms before the Supreme Court. Once this is finally decided, the battle will be over one way or the other. Please pass this info. on to every shooter you know to get behind the NRA and donate to this effort. You know damned well that Clinton, Obama, Schumer, Pelosi, Kennedy, Feinstein, Reid, etc. will be hoping a democrat becomes president so the disarming of America can begin.

I am glad that it is finally going before the Supreme Court. Every federal court on the way to the Supreme Court has struck the anti gun folks down on the individual right to keep and bear arms. I am sure the Supreme Court will do the same. Also I pray to God they will. When I had to learn the Constitution and Bill of Rights in school, we were taught it is the individual right it is the last protection from our own government. It is for the protection of our country. No one wants to invade where every home has weapons. The schools have quit teaching this for years.
STILL EVERYONE STILL SEND ALL YOU CAN TO THE NRA/ILA RIGHT NOW!!! THE LEGAL BATTLE WILL BE EXPENSIVE. THE PROPAGANDA BY THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE EXPENSIVE TO COUNTERMAND, AS WELL AS THE GUN GRABBERS PROPAGANDA. For once it gets determined that it is our right to keep and bear arms, they will be going for a constitutional amendment. By the way, arms means not just guns it is knives, sticks, rocks by any means to protect. Look it up.
Have faith, and give till it hurts on this one.
Regards,
Andy Anderson

Three things to keep in mind:
1. There are enough liberals, and moderates,AC/DC types) on the Court to go the wrong way, or at least make it more confusing than ever. Just in the last five years they have trashed free speech, property rights, and introduced foreign law into their decisions.
2. Even if it goes our way, and it is decided keeping and bearing arms is an individual right, like it was spelled out by the Founders in the first place), the ruling technically applies only to Federal law so, the battle for individual states and local governments will go on ad nauseum, and...
3. The gun grabbers never give up, regardless. So, never, ever become complacent, even if the decision goes our way, because there are enough liberals in black robes to keep the battle going as long as there are any individual rights left.

I have faith in the Supreme Court as a fair and equitable institution. I believe the Justices will again side with the rights of individuals and preempt politics.

Kent,
I agree with you that the fight will go on and on. The problem is that liberals don't give up. Our side tends to get lazy. We are in that state now, as I see it is not important to people to even read this post. Time to stand up and get counted. Put our money and mind where it should be. We can not be complacent.

I also posted this on Benchrest Central.

Disarming of America will make for quite a few rough and terrible days!

I don't believe it one bit. When they say what the penalties are for not turning in your guns YOU will be right in line to turn them in,,,, and don't give me that SB about prying out of your cold dead hands, because they will have NO problem doing that ))), Talk is cheep. If, I say IF we would have a successful "MILLION GUN MARCH" on Washington then I may believe that the Government would have a hard time getting our guns. But I don't think that will happen .

Just let us know when the "MILLION GUN MARCH" is and I'll be there. and you will be able to find me, because there will only be a couple dozen gun owner there .

To bad we can't stick together. OK how many people belong to the NRA, GOA, or other Gun organizations that do gun lobbing ?? I Hear excuses all the time where people drop out of the NRA because they did or didn't do some thing that they didn't like. But after they dropped out of the NRA just what did they do about the ANTI's ???? I'll tell you what they did NOTHING that is what they did. If they were going to do something they would be at the "MILLION GUN MARCH". We are all talk and NO do and the ANTI"S know it that's is why they keep working on it .

Now before you blast me for this post WHO will show up at the "MILLION GUN MARCH" ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????/
Thanks, Art

This is good, But sometimes it takes a little more than Faith.
The Anti's have faith also.

Art,
You said a mouth full of truth.
I don't care if you shoot pistols, shotguns, hunting rifles, target rifles, or are a military buff etc. If you are a gun owner put your money and time where it counts. We all have to band together. The antis have divided us. Remember UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. An example of spoiled Americans is the amount of people whom have read this post, instead they go right on by it and look for something their interested in.

Yea, this post has 187 viewers and in a week should have 3000 or better but it will be lucky to have 300 viewers. That shows how uncaring we are.

I am an NRA member, just renewed for 5yrs, and I believe the Supreme court will find in our favor. On the other side of the coin, neither the NRA or the ant-gun groups wont to see this turmoil ever come to a close, because if it does, all the big bucks that flow into their coffers each year will slow to a trickle. Sarah Brady has made a vast fortune off of her husbands shooting insident. She and other anti groups will never let the fires die out, because when they do the big pay cks stop, and thats what its really all about, "MONEY".

Ok for those that don't want it give the price of a cup of coffee, a pack of cigarettes, and make some origination rich. Then how about a "MILLION GUN MARCH" . You know that will NEVER happen. And I know that you ALL will be in line to turn in your guns when the time comes and LIKE I said in the other post earler, I don't want to hear the bull about your going to fight. What is one person in each State going to do?? just die or go to jail for life????
The Brady Bunch will WIN.

Gentlemen: All your statement's are worthy of consideration and thought. However, posting them on PRO GUN LEGISLATORS sites would provide more bang for the effort. Preaching to the choir only gets a nod of agreement. That's why you see many views and few responses in this type forum.

artbosco,

Your blind faith in the Supreme Court is just that, blind, and undeserved. It alone has done more damage to our system of government, as set forth by the Founders, than the other two branches, combined. Ironically, Madison thought the Judiciary would be the weakest branch. Some of their most recent decisions are a mockery of the plain, simple, and straighforward language of our Constitution. Remember, no more than five, unelected, and genuinely unaccountable people can hold the fate of our nation in their hands. Not a comforting thought.

Your comment about not preaching to the choir has merit. Trouble is, the members of the choir are usually singing different songs, all at the same time. What a mess. Gun owners easily out number the gun grabbers by about 10 to 1. But the gun grabbers are very organized. We can be too easily divided, and you know what comes next. So, a little marshalling of forces before the battle does wonders, especially if you want to be on the winning side.

To all,

Remember the simple fact of what liberals are all about; POWER & CONTROL. More for them, less for you! Historically, they have successfully divided pro-gunners by constantly throwing up straw men; the meaning of "whatever", individual vs. collective rights, self-defense, magazine capacity, rifles vs. handguns vs. shotguns vs. assault weapons, Dodge City shoot-outs, etc. And their favorite, time tested, go-to justification for taking any and all freedoms away from the unwashed masses; THE CHILDREN.

The reason gun control is a prime litmus test for liberals is the armed citizen represents the most formidable obstacle to achieving their prime goal; ultimate power and control of everybody, and everything. Yeah, I know, it sounds a bit over the top, but it's true for their elitist leaders, even if the "useful idiots",Lenin's language, not mine, Mr. Moderator) don't see it that way. Believe it, or suffer the consequences. If you don't believe me, just look at Britain and Austrailia.

So, wake up, get on the same page, join or recruit for the NRA,they're the best we've got), and don't be fooled. Mainly, let your elected representatives; local, state, and federal, know that if they want to take our guns away, WE will take their job away, and they can go looking for a real job, just like the rest of us.

It sure would be nice to see a leader arise out of all this retoric, that believes in the simple fact that if you want to keep our right as written in the 2nd amemendment, then it really is pretty much a no brainer to be one of the "million gun march" to the steps of the capitol,to the lawn of White House. Even better might be the halls of our government...the senate..BUT..I'm afraid that, as has been already said..ya can't get any group to stand up and do anything together, that takes gettin' em' off their as#'s and actually doing something. Let someone else do it"I'm too busy, I can't afford to, My wife won't let me,I'll give money but I just can'yt up and do that, the dog's gotta take a poop...etc....etc.. WAKE -UP FOLKS you better do something now,, besides the old "I'll die keeping my guns" BS... you got here because you did nothing except whine...Time to stand up, don't ya' think? My 2 c worth...I've written my REP, I've yaked to my friends, they still don't think it could happen to them either.... WELL???

Kent: Nice thoughts, but channeled into a forum not designed for producing the intended results. Better to spend time elsewhere trying in some way to influence at least 5 of the 9 Supreme Court Justices deliberations. Like it or not, that simple majority makes the laws in this country. Thank God we have 9 and not one.

Art, if this isn't the forum for results then, what is? For heaven's sake, this is a shooter's forum on the internet. Realistically, you can't get much better coverage than that.

ArtinNC, Great idea now, why don't you step up and organize the "MILLION GUN MARCH"?

Forget about that one magic bullet, pun intended) that ends all the gun grabbing. It ain't gonna happen. The real heavy lifting starts with ordinary schlubs like us, spreading the word, day after livelong day. It's gotta be a relentless, continuous, grassroots thing. If not now then, when? If not us then, who? Better put, if not us then, forget the whole thing.

Again, the best course of action is for as many gun owners as possible to keep constant pressure on our political leaders. Reward them when they do the right thing, punish them when they don't. Unfortunately, there are precious few "statesmen" left, only career political hacks. And about the only thing they care about is not the issues, but getting re-elected. If a few of them loose their jobs, and the word is because they betrayed the Second Amendment, the rest will take notice and fly right.

Our individual vote is still the most powerful thing we have. Let's use it while that is still true.

Reloader243,,,, I've yaked to my friends, they still don't think it could happen to them either.... WELL???
They are RIGHT IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE THIS IS AMERICA, Ha Ha Ha

Kent, How do you suppose I go about doing a "MILLION GUN MARCH"?
you know that you could only get a 1/2 dozen people from here to go. Like I said before if there was such a march you could easily find me because there would only be a couple a dozen show up. It will take more than me how about the NRA and OR GOA helping, I'll do my part.

,,Our individual vote is still the most powerful thing we have.))
Thats a lough . There is probley only a 1/3 of the people here that vote if that.

Trying to have FAITH in America, Art

I totally disagree with you. If one person reads this and tells a friend, the word gets out at gun clubs, offices, shops, factories, etc. I contact my congressmen and senators on a regular basis, belong to the NRA, and sing the battle cry loud and clear. The liberal news media sure gets the message out as does Sarah Brady, Handgun Control, Schumer, Pelosi, Hillary, etc. To just contact pro gun legislators is part of the battle and make no mistake about it, this is outright warfare that we have to wage. Once The Second Ammendment is infringed, we've begun the slippery slope toward losing many more rights.

ArtinNC,
The vote power thing may seem like a bucket of yuks, but it is more true today than it has ever been. The reason is simply voter apathy. How often have you heard, "Heck, I don't bother to vote because I know my one vote can't possibly make a bit of difference. It's just a feelgood thing, and a big waste of my time. The whole thing is rigged, anyway. Blah, blah, blah, and furthermore, blah!". Yeah, right. Stop thinking like that for a second and consider a real world example. Let's say there is a total of 100 people eligible to vote, ie. those 100 people represent 100% of the possible voters. Now, how will things work out using current data?

1. Only 50% of people eligible to vote actually register.
2. That leaves a total of 50 registered voters.
3. Only 25% of registered voters actually turn out to vote.
4. That leaves a total of 12.5,let's call it 13) votes cast.
5. Whomever or whatever gets 7 votes wins it all.

Pretty cool, huh? Seven people can tell the other ninety three people what to do, and all because eighty seven people wouldn't get off their butts to either register and/or vote. Just think, if one more person voted with the losing six, at least there would have been a tie, requiring a re-vote.

Think about it. Your one vote has alot more power than you think it does. Besides, politicians don't listen to non-voters, and why should they? To them, non-voters, or small numbers of single issue voters simply don't exist. But they do listen intently to, and act vigorously on behalf of, large numbers of angry voters.

Oh, and to those who think the Supremes can be pressured, good luck. Any pressure applied would probably backfire. I would say Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito are originalists, and will do the right thing. Still one vote short. There are a few who are politically sensitive, and can be swayed, sadly, by public opinion. Then there is Ruth Bader-Ginsburg, former chief counsel for the ACLU; forget her. And finally, there are those like Hugo Black who once said, "The Constitution means whatever I say it means".
