good bipod for FTR

I am just starting out in competitive shooting. I would like to get your opinions on a good bipod for FTR competition, not top of the line but a good value with good functionality. Also, what are your opinions on Sinclair's bipod? Thanks

Sinclaire is good, but for a little less money than the quick adjust sinclair, I'd get the bipod that GNERGY on the forum makes. I actually sold my Gen3 Sinclair to get the GNERGY bipod

I shoot it all the relevant competitions with a Harris bipod. I know I may be giving up some advantage, but I think F class and other long range precision rifle competitions should retain more commonality with field shooting from the prone position and most bolt actions used with a bipod for military, hunting, and law enforcement applications are using Harris bipods.

Please don't make recommendations based on what you think should be in the rules.

All of these are much better suited for F-Class:
Seb Joy pod
Flex pod
Duplin
CenterShot
Mystic
Sinclair
Phoenix
GNERGY
Dolphin
Star Shooter
and many more...

Who said anything about changing the rules? I think the rules are fine the way they are. I merely explained why I use my freedom within the rules to shoot with a Harris bipod. One need not always game the equipment for the very best advantage under the rules. One can choose to use shooting opportunities to build real world skills.

There you go again. It's not gaming anything. There are no rules that come anywhere close to stating that any of the previously mentioned bipods don't comply.

Using equipment designed specifically for the task isn't gaming, it's being smart.

Any of the ones Ryan mentioned are good. Sinclair Gen 2 is an excellent bipod and can be had used for decent money.

I am partial to the Mystic M-Pod. Super light weight and very well built. I like light weight because it allows some latitude in scope and/or barrel weights.

I really like the design of the M-Pod and it's super strong and light as you mentioned. If i wasn't so hooked on Dan's Flex bipod (I like to load a bipod) i would run the M-Pod as i think its a great ski type bipod.

All the applications of RKBA other than punching holes in paper.

My guess; sniper wannabe. Or mall ninja.

ETA: I just saw the reply above. Was I right or what?

The Sinclair Gen 2 is solid but somewhat heavy. I also like the Sinclair Gen 3. Mine served me well for many years before I moved on to the Joy Pod. I still have my Sinclair Gen 2 and Gen 3.

Just a student of Jeff Cooper:

"Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons."

"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

— Jeff Cooper, The Art of the Rifle

Who cares about your F-Class scores? If you fail to appreciate what Cooper is saying, all your rifle skills are worthless.

Yup, I'm pretty sure you're right. Sorry but I can't stay long. I have to dig out the Harris bipod. So I can work on my "real world skills" LOL

For the OP. I use GNERGY's bipods.

Perhaps y'all are right. Beginning shooters who are looking for good "value" and "functionality" might not be interested in a proven bipod that is widely used in the hunting fields, by law enforcement, and by military as well as being widely used in F-Class.

They probably only want tricked out F-Class specialty bipods that cost 2.5x as much.

I work with a number of younger shooters who routinely average under 0.5 MOA shooting off of Harris bipods, and that with factory rifles and Leupold scopes. But hey, what do I know? You don't need 2K optics, custom rifles, and fancy bipods to be competitive.

Thanks for nothing. The diet coke exiting my nostrils at high velocity really hurt and now I have to clean my laptop screen and keyboard.

:( Sorry Denys lol

All kidding aside. Berger.Fan222 you already tried to insult many shooters here. The OP asked for advice on a good FTR bi pod for competition. The other posters are competition shooters giving there opinions. Maybe you need to work on your people skills along with your real world skills.
