Fake news in gun mags now?

not new. american rifleman did a pistol accuracy test on a reviewed gun.
they normally do 15/25 yards, with this pistol they did SEVEN yards and as i recall
it was still 3"-4" groups.
they did a test on selfdefense ammo and threw out loads that did not "fit" the writers
personal criteria..it interfered with his conclusion.
with glossy paper they do not even make good toilet paper.

Don't think for one second that Dusty has just exposed anything. When I did quite a bit of USPSA shooting in the 80's thru the 90's and into the early 2000's I had occasion to shoot with one particular writer. This guy's articles were always full of charts showing fantastic accuracy (worst loads never over 1") and super fast speed. They were also full of glowing review on fit and function as well. On one occasion I had just finished reading his article on the new Ruger 77/22 Hornet and my interest was peaked when I ran into this writer at a big match. I asked about the rifle and if his personal opinion may have been any different but was truly surprised when he told me the review was on the THIRD rifle because the first two gave best groups upwards of 10".
This same writer once wrote that he was proud to have won a USPSA State Match in a stated year. Thing was, I was actually at that match, shooting as a competitor and working as a Range Officer, and can tell you he did not even attend that year. Need even more proof; I got his hotel room!
