Eley Ammo

I took my new Kidd Supergrade out today. Eley Target shot very well. What is the next step up in the Eley line? I know black box and Tennex are the top 2, but what is next?

More shooting updates. Eley Target shot very well in the last outing. I pick up more Target, Club, and Edge. I shot a total of 45 - 5 shot groups, at 50 yds, off of bi-pods and rear bag on a bench. Conditions were foggy, cool, very little wind.

Club shot a 15 group agg. of 0.3171" small group 0.201" large group 0.479"

Target shot a 11 group agg. of 0.3207" small group 0.229" large group 0.440".

Edge shot a 19 group agg. of 0.3437" small group 0.243" large group 0.547"

The Edge was a older lot, it did not have the flat point like the new stuff, maybe the new stuff would shoot better. Edge is nearly twice the cost of Club, so I am going with Club.

Club shot the best, by only having 2 groups over 0.4". Target was next with 3 groups over 0.4". I thought Edge would be the best, but it had 4 groups over 0.5".
A few weeks ago Target shot very well at 220 yds. Too foggy to shoot past 50 yds. today. I will updated when I can shoot at longer rangers.

I have seen SK Pistol Match out shoot good Eley. Now I ain't no expert measurer. But I do know that Bic ink pen covers easily all 5 shots. So let the peanut gallery take that in before they gripe.20160709_220215.jpg 20160709_220233.jpg

Still not grasping those basic principles I see. Good point though, we recently went to Bic pens to measure in our benchrest league.

All I was doing is telling the guy cheaper ammo that shot the best. But thanks for the comments. And what better way to show them so they can see for themself.

I can't say I have measured 45 5 shot groups in a row with it. But what I can say is I can shoot some groups at 100yds out of my Kidd barrel 10/22 that a dime will cover all 5 shots. At 50yds I can typically shoot .2's or less with SK Pistol Match. I can shoot groups with cheap CCI sv ammo that would rival that Club.

That sounds good about SK pistol Match. My guns love CCI SV. I have shot smaller groups with SV, but the club will out shoot it.

RWS-50 at 109 yards... Savage MK-II (cost me $240 Canadian loonies, new). Eley Match is almost as good as the RWS-50.
The flyer was the last shot (of course). Adjusted my position after the 4th shot , I don't know why I had to do it.

What I'm trying to say.... I don't mind paying a premium for the better ammo if it shoots like this.
