I saw on the news were Dick's destroyed 5 million dollars of guns.... This might be old news.... Wonder if they claimed it some how on their insurance or just ate it.... If they just ate it their investors just lost money on their BS.... Dick's said their decision to raise the age to buy a gun to 21 cost them 250 million in sales also.... But said it didn't effect their bottom line and stocks increased....

That number is probably a retail value, not the money they spent on the guns.

But, it is a great thing for the gun manufacturers. The guns are effectively sold, and out of circulation. Whatever demand there was, is still there and the need to manufacture more has not changed.

On the other hand, the news of the day is that they are hiring part time help for the Christmas Season (I never say the holidays).
I thought I might apply just to mess with them.

Stopped into a local one yesterday to give them a hard time. Needless to say I didn’t find one employee that wanted to say hi nor did I find anything firearm related, hunting supplies, or archery items in the store at all. Unreal... that’ll be the last time I step foot in there.

I hope they ate it, and in a couple of years when they're forced to restructure because of money problems, the board of directors fires the sphincter people that made this and all the other anti-gun decisions.

I'm surprised that the shareholders are putting up with a $250M loss plus the destruction of $5M of inventory. I would have thought that they would have removed him as CEO by now. That has to translate into losses to the bottom line. Plus, the ill will generated towards shooters and firearm owners...

The bride and I walked into dicks this weekend, when greeted I asked where the AR 15's where. As the mouth of the young lady fell open we turned around and walked out. It was just a little fun on date night.

I do not and will not spend a penny of my money at Dicks. That said, they are doing great businesswise. Their stock was up 20% in Sept. the stock pays a decent dividend and financial analyst are positive on the company. Their financials actually took a leap after they announced the discontinuation of firearms. Makes me sad but those are the facts.

Well guys, if you look at the people who are at the top of the heap, so to speak, it terrifies me that they can make any kind of statement, much less political. It makes me nauseous to think that politicians and people like Edward Stack can make any kind of statement at all. I truly can't believe that ignorant people get press like they do today and it sends chills down my spine to think of how they influence the way people think. Especially young people. Our country is in a sad state - very sad. So, enjoy it while you can.
