    RCBS Chargemaster Reducing Insert

Reducing insert with small removable sleeve. Works to reduce powder overthrows when using extruded powders like Varget and makes for uniform charge weights. It is very accurate and might all but eliminate overthrows entirely. $16.95 shipped. PM for details.

*Measure your discharge tube]- If you have an older Chargemaster, it may have a smaller tube inside diameter in the .265 range. Make a note of this so I can spin one down to fit. 99% are in the .310+ range but its best to measure to be sure. The best way to measure is lock your calipers at .310 and see if they fit. If not, lock them at .308 and check, and so on. Find the smallest number that will fit and give me that. Another way to check is see if a .308 cal bullet will fit in the tube. All inserts are a few thousands undersized for a universal fit and you will add just a small piece of scotch tape or plumbers tape to the OD of the insert for a slip/snug fit in your discharge tube.

This insert also works in other electronic dispensers such as the Lyman and Hornady units.

I still make the original without the extra sleeve, but they are not nearly as popular. $12.95 Shipped

"Poor man's prometheus. I picked up two of the new sleeve reducers from MDM and all I can say is wow. My current setup is 2 chargemasters and a fx120i with omega trickler. My first ten charges with new sleeves all within 0.02 of target charge. After 100 charges and checking against fx120i, I've only had to use trickler a couple times. I've yet to have one go over."

If someone has the Hornady or Lyman dispenser and would like one of these, get me the internal dimension of the stem and I will make you one up free of charge to try out. That's one freebie for a lyman user and one freebie for a Hornady user. Not sure whether the Hornady or Lyman has the overthrow issue like the RCBS or not.

madmixerman got the freebie to try in the Hornady. Sounds like the Hornady stem is the same dimensions as the CM stem so I'm sure these will work in the Hornady unit as well.

There is someone making them in the UK as well, he calls it a"thingy" ;) The problem we have, is that McDonalds straws seem to be a different diameter in this country.

I got one recently, it really seems to tame the Chargemaster.

Cool. One day last week I got tired of my straw spinning out of the tube and I looked at my lathe and thought, "there has to be a better way". This is what I came up with. I've sold enough of these to make a donation to this site. I will keep donating as long as they keep selling. Thanks guys.

Made some more of these up, so I have plenty. Still have a freebie for a Lyman dispenser user if someone wants to try it out in that unit.

If anyone that ordered one of these gets a note from the post office wanting additional postage, let me know and I will refund you the amount. Local post office assured me 2 stamps and the envelopes I use would cover these to anywhere in the country. Well I just got word that an envelope went to NM and they wanted $1.34 in additional postage, so keep your eye out for this and PM me if you need a refund to cover any additional postage. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope this isn't a recurring problem, but let me know if it is and I will take care of you.
