Jim announced today a XP 100 single shot, coned bolt face, bayonet instead of a threaded shroud.

    From his Facebook:

"Making the bolts for these now and the action body steel is being cut so it can be gun drilled and heat treated.

    The Alpine XP

These will have the 1 1/16 x 16 thread --not sure why the demand for that - but we AIM to please [IMG];)

they will also feature a bayonet versus thread shroud. Since they are single shot they will also use a coned bolt nose."

I think I just found my 20VT build....now I just need a new job so I can pay for it!!!!
Maybe I can get a friend to buy one so I can wait till he is broke and buy it from him cheap?

I think this is a great idea for an action

What are the odds I could get one for a .575 rimmed magnum?

Remington made these years ago as a XR100. They worked extremely good for a F-Class match action. I have used mine for .223, 6.5 x 47L, 308 and short mag cartridges. Right now one is being rebarrelled for a 284 Shehane! This length is very rigid and support a heavy barrel well. The only slight negative is if you seat the bullets out beyond a certain length they won't feed and the cartridges have to be inserted into the chamber. The 223 and 6.5 x 47L is partial to this. Never had an issue in 308 and short mag's.
