Barrett Mrad vrs custom bolt gun?

    I have yet to see any Nesika, BAT or Stolle (Kelbley's) action depreciate in value. I agree with 86alaskan, a barrel blank and chambering is half the cost of an interchangeable barrel setup. You still end up with 2 bolts (if using different sized bolts such as standard and magnum). I'm pretty sure just a factory barrel replacement would still be more than a blank and chambering by a smith. I however, cannot attest to an MRAD's resale value.

    I don't know how deep your nostalgia runs with the 308 but you might want to consider the benefits of the 6.5 Creed' over the 308. If you are set on 308, consider a chamber specifically for the 220gn bullets. In Fclass competition, they do well at 1000yards. Other weight .30 cal bullets perform well in a chamber for the 220gn but I have found, not vice versa. Depends on what your intentions are for whatever platform you decide on.
