Action on ITAR

http://www.acgg.org/images/20160829_ITAR_DDTC_Letter.pdf

The above is copied from the Custom Gunmakers Guild website, I haven't seen it posted anywhere else yet. This is the letter from the senate to John Kerry asking for action on the ITAR definition of gunsmithing signed by numerous senators. There is another letter from the House with, of course, many more signatures. Hopefully we'll get some action on this pretty soon and we won't need to fight this battle again for a while.

Don't understand why there isn't MANY more signatures on that document. It's a little disappointing.

It's basically half of them. That's doing ok to me! I see neither of my senators are on there, but they are both hardcore Dems!

They're busy gettin' re-elected..... Glad to see both of the Senators who represent the state I live in have signed, but my Congressman is nowhere to be found. I think I'll call his office Tuesday morning and ask "why?". Maybe others should do the same and call those who have not signed....

24% of Senators signed it so far. I think that's a pretty good start.

I think we will win this one sooner than later !

I agree the election will have a bearing on alot of issues, but that being said at least 24 senators are trying and not just waiting to see what happens after the election. We need to remember the ones who support us and the ones who are not. Daines is from my state and I did notice he is at the top of list andTester is not even on the listso you can bet I will remember at the ballot box. Same goes for us who sit around and complain or say "will never happen" if your not willing to sign petitions, make a few phone calls etc. because won't make a difference or big brother might have you on a list, we'll what if our fore father's had that kinda of thinking we wouldn't have the liberty's we have now even though they are being trampled on.

Your senator may have 4 to 6 offices or more in the state, call and email them all, does not take long!

A fellow 01 gunsmith got a form letter from our Senator Burr stating the response time on this matter was over a year ago and less than 1000 responses were received. I received a letter from our Senator Tillis who said the whole intended purpose of the "Government" was to register anyone who was capable of making and exporting military grade weapons and/or put them out of business.
