Just looking for some insight shooting 105 hybrids and AMAX over H1000 in a 6mm Creedmoor. I know guys have done / are doing this but I was hoping to get a rough idea of my charge range and accuracy nodes.

My goal is 3,100 fps or in that range, and I understand that in order to get there this will likely be a compressed load or at least very close to it.

I know that 4350 is the powder of choice in the 6 creed for the most part but it can be tough to find around here and it's hard on barrels.

Setup is a 26" Excalibur Heavy Palma on a TL3 and will be my primary match rig this season. Any insight is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have a 6x47L Imp. Almost exactly the same capacity as the 6 Creedmoor. I tried H1000 with 115 DTAC's and couldn't get enough powder in the case to get over 2600. Just too small of a case for that powder. I did get 2900 with N165. And this is with a 30" tube. This rifle easily goes 3100+ with 115's and H4350 or RL17.

Alright and that's what I was concerned about. Guess I'll have to see if I can track down some RL-17. I don't know how there are guys that insist H1000 can be used in these smaller cases and still get good velocity. I might load a few up just to play with and see for myself but I won't hold my breath.

Maybe it will work different with 105's but in theory the 115's should make that ultra slow powder more efficient. I'd be interested to know how it works out for you.

3085 was best velocity I could get with H1000 and 105 Amax bullets. I could get close to 3200 with H4831SC. Best accuracy was with H4350 however at 3170fps. All with 105 Amax. Best accurace with RE22 was at 3120, better accuracy with H4350 though. This was with a Bartlein 5R barrel 28" long.
Can't seem to find my load data for the 115 tubbs bullets but know my best accuracy was still with H4350 I believe velocity was close to 3100 yet.

I’m finalizing load work-up for my 6 Creedmoor with the 108 ELD-x and seeing RL22 and H4831 doing very well and RL17 giving “1 big hole” groups at 100 yards out of my factory RPR off bipod and rear bag. I tried some H1000 but the ladder wasn’t as consistent/pretty as the other 3. I’ll admit to giving a half-hearted attempt with 4350 and it did give some good groups but I pursued the other powders more hoping that I could find acceptable accuracy with increased barrel life.

I don’t have a chronograph yet, but 43.3-43.5 grains of all three of the above powders seems to do well for me (standard reloading rules for caution apply), should be within book maximums and hold the expected elevation values (or better) out to 300 yards for speed at between 2950-3000 FPS.
