I just received another pride & joy from fleabay. I had a specific project in mind for this die set marked: 6.5-375. The base measures .455" yet it crushes any Brass I try to form with it. What is the 375 wildcat I'm working with?

It will take at least 6 or 7 steps to go from 375 to 6.5. There are no short cuts.

That's the question. What 375 is this? It crushed a .270 Neck, that's why I'm baffled, thought I would ask before I ruined any more Brass.

That’s an odd base measurement. Looking forward to the mystery’s answer.

Some dimensions for 6.5 Jap show .455" base dia. Maybe its a 6.5 jap opened up to hold a .375 dia bullet. Just spitballin here.

    I
it could be the 375 Winchester , necked down to 6.5 . 375 was a stronger case than the 30 -30

Usually the NEW wildcat bore is listed first and the PARENT case it's made from is second . 22-250 22 cal on a 250 savage case , 6.5-06 , you get the idea

Hmm... I've uncovered the Westley Richards & the Nitro Express as candidates as well. I recall one time I found a reference to this Wildcat as why I bought it. No such luck now.

I thought that as well but the .455” base diameter killed the idea.
