Probably a simple answer but I'll ask anyway. Is it possible/practical to form 28 Nosler cases from some high quality parent case (i.e. Lapua, Norma)?
    Thank you
    Michael

If you really, really like forming and trimming you can probably make them from ADG 300 RUM cases. With some intermediate forming dies...

Might be easier to just buy high quality cases. https://bertrambrass.com/

Btw , they’re expecting a bunch of brass this week. Not sure if the 28 Nosler is in this shipment

So, when I read your response I thought, awesome! Bertram brass!!

Gotta tell ya, the price made me think it was a misprint....had to go in and reload the page again just to be sure.

I have made it from ADG 300 rum brass using standard dies. Works very well. ADG will be coming out with 28 Nosler brass around shot show is what I was told by them.

Wait on ADG, I was not impressed with Bertrams 28 nosler brass. Inconsistent weight and neck thickness varied by .002.

when you couldn't find any a couple years ago when nosler was the only supplier I made hundreds for friends and family. much easier to make from 338 rum brass. just made some from ADG 338 rum brass.

I've made a bunch of 7mm dak from RWS 404 jeffreys brass. Tough stuff. You could do the same with the noslers I'd imagine.

RWS is elite quality brass - if you can find it, and afford it.

Agree 100% . It's great brass. Very tough case heads. It's tough to find 404 now since they quit making it long ago. I've been lucky enough to secure a nice pile of it. First batch of 500 I got for $1.25 each.

My shooting buddy gave me a 50-ct box of Black Hills 223 ammo he said he didn't need. Upon inspection, the brass was stamped RWS! I made the rounds of local stores, opening a box of every Black Hills 223 product I could find, but never saw any more RWS, mostly just LC. But I started reloading the 50 RWS I then had, retiring the old W.W. cases I had been using.
