I'm looking for a single shot 221/222/223 in a synthetic stock.

My preferred needle in a haystack find would be a custom build with a top notch bedding job or a Dakota or a Cooper. If you've put it up because it doesn't shoot all that great or you have too many to shoot, I'd be interested to see what you have.

What I currently have are nice wood rifles dedicated to field hunting (crows) and targets.

I've come across some farmers that need some coyotes exterminated at ranges under 300 yards and a few of these places require a little hike thru the woods and heavy brush to get to.

I've turned down too many opportunities for coyote and fox hunting due to the rifles I have. I'm ready to have a nice light to medium weight hunter with a stock I'm not worried about brushing it up against a fence while going from one stand to another.

Really any 222/223 based cartridge would be fine, just to keep from limiting my search opportunities.

    For Coyotes at 300 yards with a 223 ??
I would Suggest to move up to the 22-250.
    The Bergara Ridge 22/250 , (A Remington 700 Clone).
Get a New one from Grabagun.com from under $800.
Mine shoots the reloads of 50 grain Noslers, or 65 Sierra Gamekings, and the 80 Grain Berger ALL less than 3/4 moa easy.

Sounds to me like you need a Savage, and a 223AI would be a great choice.

You can convert any 223 barrel to an AI if it shoots to start. Not that difficult.

I have a Winchester model 70 featherweight in 22-250, nice clean little rifle, newer production, excellent shape. Nice looking wood stock that a guy may want to replace with a cheap beater stock and I have a take off stock from an older winchester ranger here. The ranger stock should fit and that stock has no value. I'd sell the package for $550 shipped if it you're interested.

I have a Remington 700 VTR in .223 that has a 9 twist barrel that will allow you to shoot the heavier bullets for the range you are looking for. Looks like new with very low round count. $595 to your door. Pm me if interested.
