22 PPC with 80 Grain Bullets for 600 yds

I have a terrific 22 PPC gun, Shilen BP Action with Bartlein 1-8" 28 inch barrel set in a Neal Johnson "A" prone stock. I use Irons, Warner rear and Rite Sight 30mm front. I am looking for loads and experience with 80 grain Sierras and Berger bullets. I have been using 24.5 Varget and 25.0 Varget which is a case full to the base of the neck. Shoots prone like a dream, very low recoil.

Anyone have good luck with other powders? other projectiles?

...Also finding that H335 is doing quite well and meters so easily. From my Culver Harrell i throw the exact amount ( forget the # clicks) and set this on my digital scale and it is rarely off. I also want to try the N140 since it is in the same burn rate ( and i already have so much of it anyway). this is a great caliber and shoots well, no real recoil, and i'm hoping to make it a 600 yd load for matches. Where are the other shooters for this? lots of guys out there with 1:14 twists shooting light stuff, i am at 1:8" and shooting 73 bergers, 80 SMK and bergers.

This is where Quick Load would be handy. Not a lot of Data for that set up as your finding. I bet its fun to shoot.!!!

I bet H4895 would be also be a good choice or anything that is shot with the 223 And heavy bullets. R15, 8208, AR Comp, Varget, H4895, Ect Ect.

Hey Russel,
Good comments. Yes, it will shoot whatever a .223 shoots with heavies and quite well. this is a Bass-Ackwards project for me as I bought the rifle in this caliber and had quite a bit of brass, so I thought to try and make it work...at least for the next few thousand rounds of barrel life and go from there. I have a couple of 6mmAR's and they are wonderful and thought initially about a 6BR or 6 Dasher for a bolt gun for the mid-range matches and maybe an occasional LR match. So this 22 PPC was a novelty. the stock is a Neal Johnson "A" prone stock fully adjustable and fits me like a second skin. the caliber is really very fun to shoot and watch the rounds group and stack up together. I have a Warner rear and Right-Sight front on it now and shooting at to 600 to select my loads. 1) I thought the lazy way out was to ask others to help with their experience with the caliber, and 2) introduce it or re-introduce it to those interested in the caliber.
so far, it has been a ball shooting.

I suppose if your going to twist my arm... I will take it off your hands.??!!!! LOL.

Great little round I bet. Your going to have to chart your own path I would imagine. Keep us posted.

Accurate 2230 my favorite powder in 22 ppc with the 50-60 grain bullets! Win 748 might be good too for the heavy bullets.
