219 Donaldson Wasp with a small primer.

I've been shooting a Taylor and Robbins bench gun made in the 1960's.

I've used cases formed from Zipper brass and Win 30-30 brass then I came across some Federal 30 American small primer cases which I had formed for my Wasp.

5 shot groups using the small primer were the best loads I've found so far for this gun.

A 52g Sierra HPBT over 28.5 of IMR 4320 with a Rem 7 1/2 primer shoots consistently in the low 2's to high 1's.

Pic of the target attached.

Here's the thread that has the pic of the gun: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/taylor-and-robbins-219-donaldson-wasp.3896412/

Gorgeous rifle! So glad a classic gun in a classic cartridge is still getting sandbox time. Love the 219 Wasp.

I have a Taylor and Robbins 219 Donaldson Wasp 30" barrel and I shoot 28.5 gr IMR 4064 with a CCI BR 2 primer with 52 gr Sierra BTHP. Have shot 0.070" 5 shot groups at 100 yds. Large rifle primer appears to work fine in mine. Would love to get some small primer brass to do extensive load work with. I use 30/30 brass to form casings.

Have you considered the small primer pocket adapters Freedom Arms used to offer?
I'm still cleaning my reloading room, maybe I can find you some more of that 30 American brass.
