    I've shot hundreds with the .223 with the 50, 53 and 55 vmax. That vartarg is every bit as nasty with zero recoil. I'm at around 3700.

    I wonder if my 12 twist reduces splat factor if the velocity is not maxed out? I notice how my 17 fireball really blows em up comparatively, and that is a 1-9 @ 4000 fps

    Those are very impressive results. What were the approximate distances and the bullet? I have been using an 11T with 40 VM @ 3400 exclusively for better wind drift, however, I'm not experiencing anything like your photos in the 200-300 range where most of my shooting takes place. I may have to reconsider bullet choice after seeing your results.

    I shoot a 9 twist in .223 and 12 twist in vartarg

    Usually 250 and under with that Vartarg. 32 gr z-max. They aren't all that nasty, depends how you hit them. But I'm very happy with the results and that cartridge in general.
