IMG_0949.JPG A little seating test here at 100 yards
    44.0 starting at .005 jump
It looks like I'll keep it at .005 and maybe add a touch of powder.
    FPS at .005
    1- 2849
    2- 2855
    3- 2842
    1/2 vertical
Not too bad for a super light rifle that kicked the crap outta me!

Judging by the wrist splint in the background,... Maybe some pressure in someones carpal tunnel.
    :D

Look at -.020 see how your group is starting to come back together, where -.010 & .015 are opened up?
Curious about -.025 & -.030, I gotta know what's on the other side?
Will the group come back together, and will there be a velocity increase/decrease?

I'm wondering about working towards touch in .01 increments.
    Will the group tighten up?

My guess is that it would come back together and stay together for a bit at longer jumps and be a more reliable load. Close to the lands is not a thing that I would go to as a first choice. Shoot mine at .025 off (like most of the bullets I shoot)

    Sounds like a good plan
    I'm on it !
Should I go straight to 44.3 as well?

I know you say she kicks like a mule, sounds like you're ready for the punishment.
Sometimes you gotta take a whupping to give a whupping.
FWIW I'm -.006 from touch in my 06.
I never tried larger seating depths but groups opened up.

I have tested the 155 Scenars on my Sig Sauer SSG 205 Phantom. Got very good results - 1/3MOA 5 shots@200 meters, front bipod only - but they like to be pushed and jammed into the lands

Here's my recipe for the 155gr Scenars...

    Caliber: .308win
    Rifle brand: PGWdti
    Rifle Model: Coyote
Barrel length and twist: 24" 1:10" Krieger
Projectile brand, model and weight: Lapua Scenar 155gr
Powder brand and weight: Varget 47.2gr
LOAD CONSIDERED HOT OR CLOSE TO MAX: No
    Primers: CCI BR-2
Coal: N/A (too long to mag feed)
    Ogive length: 2.230" (.007" jump)
    Brass: Lapua
    Brass trim length: 2.005"
    Distance to lands: .007"

    Results at 100m: .290" (.139moa) 5 shots

    Velocity (average): 2995fps S.D.=8 E.S.=9 (10 shot average)
    Outside temperature: 20c
    Wind and direction: N/A
Barometric pressure and other relevant data: 792m ASL, 101.0Kpa, 65% RH, .002" shoulder bump

I chose the 155gr scenars because of the competition consensus about three years ago....faster and flatter.

That's very fast with a 24 inch barrel for that bullet with Varget.......

Several years ago I tested the 155 Scenars with Varget in Palma brass and they shot really well around 2950 ftps. That was in a 30 inch barrel but I didn't try pushing them faster.

    -------------------------------------

EXACTLY the same load I used several years ago in a 24" 308win 10" twist and the velocity was IDENTICAL ! I wish barrels lasted forever. That barrel lasted 3 years.

    47.2 Varget
    Lapua brass
    BR-2
    155 scenar
    2,995 fps !

It was hard on the brass but shot like a laser !

I’ve developed a little shoulder problem at work, doctors haven’t decided yet what’s going on.
The BR doesn’t bother me but this little gun might have to wait a bit.
    Especially with the hotter loads

Used them a number of years ago for 600 yard FTR matches in my sons rifle at the time. Best results with velocity around 3,000 FPS in a 30" barrel. If I recall was around 46.0g Varget. They did very well at 600 but would not keep up with the heavies at 1,000 and some wind.

    Well Fellas
I finally got around to a seating test, it only took 8 months for my shoulder to heal up so now here’s a pop quiz for the members who like riddles.
What color would you choose and why
Oh yeah- conditions were mirage and wind from 11:00
    15x scope
    550 yard seating test

Green and Blue look promising to me. But I am no expert... I alway do my seat testing at 100 or 200.. Ladder test at 500-600..

Edit... On second thought.. try this again at 100 and report back..

The T3 factory stock is horrible in terms of recoil reduction, change it out or put on a decelerator/limbsaver at least, and you will find it incredibly much more comfortable to shoot.
Shot one in 30-06 with the factory stock for a while, i'm not very recoil sensitive, but that thing hurt after 20+ rounds.
A new stock and it's very comfortable to shoot.
